Uzunkul is a lake in the Small Kizil river basin in the Southern Urals. It is located in the depression between the Kurkak and Uzunkyr ranges . The name comes from the Bashkir word ҙon длинный long ’and kүl озеро lake’. From the lake flows the river Kly [2] .

Nearby are the villages of Uzungulovo , Ozerny [2] .
On the east side is Mount Tashyar (545.3 m). Lake of tectonic formation, originated in basalts, rhyolites, jaspers of the Karamalytash Formation of the Middle Devonian. The basin of the lake is elongated, the bottom is shallow, covered with sapropel [3] . The lake is sewage, the Kly river (the Lesser Kizil basin) flows out of the lake. Water replenishment mixed with the predominance of surface. Freshwater eutrophic lake.
The northern and southern shores are gentle, the western and eastern are steep. The surroundings are covered with pine and birch forests on light gray forest mountain soils. The coast is represented by forest and meadow plant species, such as dioecious nettle, wormwood, timothy grass, and fescue [3] .
Among the valuable natural areas that are promising for the establishment of various categories of protected areas , the Kulbash swamp is called (including the northern part of Lake Uzunkul) [4] .
Reed reed , sedge , reed and others grow. Verkhovka , crucian carp, lake frogs, and moorhead and others live in the lake, and gray duck, and lake gull [3] . Fish stocks are suitable for industrial fishing. [five]
