Location
55 km northwest of Svetlogorsk , 52 km from the railway station of Svetlogorsk-on-Berezina , 165 km from Gomel .
Transportation Network
Transport links along a country road, and then the Bobruisk – Svetlogorsk highway. The layout consists of 2 parallel rectilinear streets close to the meridional orientation, connected by 2 short streets. In the south - 2, in the east - 1 small isolated building plots. The building is mainly wooden, manor type, two-sided. In 1991-1995, 100 brick houses were built, which housed immigrants from places contaminated with radiation after the Chernobyl disaster .
History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Chernin volost of the Bobruisk district of the Minsk province . In 1879, it was designated among the villages of the Cherninsky church parish . According to the 1897 census, the village of Vezhnovo (it is also Vezhno). In 1921, a school was opened, which was located in a hired peasant house.
At the beginning of 1929 a collective farm named after K. Marx was organized, a forge worked. In 1939, the inhabitants of the Brodtsy, Zaelnitsky Most, Zalavishchi, Zalesye, Zamlynie, Zamoshye, Zakhlyaschi, Zapyodynie, Zamyoshie, Bridges, Podbrodtsy, Radkov, Silina, Smolovitsa villages were resettled and the village of Garda was annexed. In the 1930s, 10 residents were repressed. During the Great Patriotic War in June 1944, the invaders burned 143 yards and killed 70 residents. According to the 1959 census, the center of the SEC "Vezhny". There are a secondary school, a club, a library, a feldsher-midwife station, a veterinary station, a post office , 3 shops, a kindergarten.

Notes
The agricultural town of Vežna has its own basic school, in spite of the fact that the agricultural town has about 300 people, the school takes an active part in various regional and republican contests and competitions. The school was founded in 1960, the current headmaster is Petukh Viktor Nikolaevich .
