Vezhny (Svetlogorsk district)

Location

55 km northwest of Svetlogorsk , 52 km from the railway station of Svetlogorsk-on-Berezina , 165 km from Gomel .

In 1939, the inhabitants of the Brodtsy, Zaelnitsky Most, Zalavishchi, Zalesye, Zamlynie, Zamoshye, Zakhlyaschi, Zapyodynie, Zamyoshie, Bridges, Podbrodtsy, Radkov, Silina, Smolovitsa villages were resettled and the village of Garda was annexed. In the 1930s, 10 residents were repressed. During the Great Patriotic War in June 1944, the invaders burned 143 yards and killed 70 residents. According to the 1959 census, the center of the SEC "Vezhny".
