Lesnoye ( Belor. Lyasnoe ) (until November 7, 1922 Forest Island, until 1946 the Red Island) is a village in the Vyshemirsky village council of the Rechytsa district of the Gomel region of Belarus .

Geography
Location
29 km south of the district center and the Rechitsa railway station (on the Gomel - Kalinkovichi line ), 79 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
In the northern outskirts of the ditch Malodushskaya, in the east there is a network of ameliorative canals.
Transportation Network
Transport links along the country road, then the Khoiniki -Rechitsa highway . The layout consists of 3 short, meridional orientations of the streets, built up with wooden manors.
History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Malodushsky volost, Rechytsa district, Minsk province . It was founded by settlers from the village of Malodusha and was known under the name Kolosovsky (by the name of the first settlers), then - Forest Island, from November 7, 1922 to 1946 the Red Island.
In 1931 a collective farm was organized. In 1939, residents of the village of Borovoe were resettled in the village. During the Great Patriotic War , partisans were based in the village and nearby in the forest. In November 1942, for some time the headquarters of S. Kovpak's partisan unit was located here. On January 2, 1943, partisans defeated a German punitive detachment in the village and captured trophies. The occupants completely burned down the village and killed 45 inhabitants. 40 residents were killed at the front. According to the census of 1959 as part of the collective farm named after MV Frunze (center - the village of New Barsuk ).
Until November 12, 2013 was a member of the Novobarsuksky Village Council , after its abolition it was included into the structure of the Vyshemirsky Village Council [1] .
