Geography
Location
24 km south-east from the district center and the Rechitsa railway station (on the Gomel - Kalinkovichi line ), 74 km from Gomel . On the Dnieper River .
Transportation Network
Transport links along the country road, then the Loew -Rechitsa highway . The layout consists of a straight, close to the meridional orientation of the street, built up on both sides, loosely predominantly wooden manors. A new street (100 houses), built up in 1986 with brick cottage-type houses, was settled by settlers from places contaminated by radiation as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster .
History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Kholmech volost of Rechytsa district, Minsk province . In 1850 - the possession of Count Rakitsky. In 1879 it was designated in the Kholmechsky parish . In 1930 - 440 hectares of land. In 1930, the collective farm "Victory" was organized, the forge and the windmill worked . 62 inhabitants died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War . According to the census of 1959 - as part of the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU (center - the village of Vyshemir ). The club works.
