Moses Chan ( born Moses Hung-Wai Chan , Chinese trad . He graduated from Bridgewater College and Cornell University , where he received his Ph.D. in 1974. Since 1979, he is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

For his achievements in physics, he received the Fritz London Prize, along with Karl Wiemann and Eric Cornell . In 2000 he was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA .
In 2004, Chan's results were obtained, which he interpreted as the transition of a solid 4He into a superfluid state . He also experimentally observed the Casimir effect and experimentally confirmed the two-dimensional Ising model .
