Biography

He was born on April 23, 1940 in a working-class family in the town of Kalinkovichi (now Gomel Region , Belarus ). During the Great Patriotic War he became an orphan. He was educated in Vilchansky and Khoiniki orphanages in the Gomel region .

After graduating from the 8-year school in 1956, he continued his education at the Kemerovo Mining Industrial Technical School. He worked at the Kuzbass mine, in geological exploration by a drifter. Since 1962 - Head of the Industry Department of the newspaper “Krasnaya Shoria” ( Tashtagol, Kemerovo Region ), police officer of the regional newspaper “Komsomolets of Kuzbass”, correspondent of the regional radio.

In 1970, he graduated from the correspondence department of the Literary Institute named after A.M. Gorky . In 1971 he moved to Minsk . Since 1971, he has been a literary associate of the Belarusian newspapers “Chyrvonaya Zmena” and “ Sovetskaya Belorussia ”, in 1973-1976 he was a correspondent of the Belarusian literary magazine “ Neman ”. Since 1976 - in the creative work. In 1985-1988 - Secretary of the Writers' Union of the BSSR . Since 1988 - in the creative work.

Took part in the XL session of the UN General Assembly (1986) [1] .

Creativity

He made his debut in 1962 in Russian. C 1971 writes in the Belarusian language . Belongs to the generation of "children of war" in Belarusian literature, the recognized master of "Belarusian military prose." Prose writer has an autobiographical basis. After the Chernobyl nuclear accident (1986), the environmental aspect is present in the work of V. Kazko.

Prose V. Kazko was translated into Russian, Ukrainian languages.
