History
In 1836 - 1860, it was called Ogorodnaya Street, then Ogorodniknaya. In the years 1865-1962 it was Suvorovskaya Street. The current name was assigned in order to eliminate the names of the same name - since 1962 [1] in memory of Nikolai Gerasimovich Pomyalovsky (1835-1863) - a writer who vividly described the life of Malaya Okhta , where he lived.
Interesting Facts
Initially, the name of N. G. Pomyalovsky was assigned to another street: in 1913, a request was sent to the assembly of elected Okhta suburban society from the inhabitants of Okhta - to perpetuate the name of the writer. The meeting decided to rename Ogradnaya (the name is also found in the then spelling - Ogradskaya) street into Pomyalovsky street. The former name was due to the fact that the street passed along the fence of the Maloohtinsky cemetery. Subsequently, this street was built up.
