Developed on the basis of a small-format automatic rangefinder camera FED-Micron-2 .
The main difference is an improved photographic shutter that allows arbitrarily setting the shutter speed in manual mode (“ FED-Micron-2 ” - only 1/30 sec.).
Two modifications were issued:
- " FED-35 " ( 1985 - 1986 ) - a camera with three exposure settings - automatic ( automatic ), semi-automatic and manual. Issued 6.868 copies.
- " FED-35A " ( 1987 - 1990 ) - a camera with two exposure settings - automatic ( automatic ) and manual. 24,634 copies issued.
The cost of the camera in the 1980s - 150 rubles.
Specifications
- The photo material used is type 135 . Frame size 24 × 36 mm. Charging in a standard cassette capacity of 36 frames.
- Housing with an opening rear cover. The hammer cocking of the shutter and rewinding of the film, the trigger has two positions - working and transport. There is a blockage from incomplete cocking. Automatic self-resetting frame counter. The rewind handle type roulette .
- The lens “ Industar-81 ” 2.8 / 38 - non-removable. Manual focus with a range finder . Focusing range from 1 m to "infinity". The resolution of the lens in the center of the frame is 50 lines / mm, along the edges of 18 lines / mm. The thread under the filter M46 × 0.75.
- The FED-35 camera (FED-35A) is equipped with a central zilinzovy shutter - a diaphragm . The function of the diaphragm performs the central shutter, when shooting the shutter petals work out not only the shutter speed in seconds, but also open up to a certain relative aperture .
- Exposure in automatic mode - from 1/60 to 1/300 sec. In manual mode - from 1/60 to 1/4 s or “ B ”.
- The FED-35 camera has a semi - automatic exposure mode . The shutter speed was set from 1/4 to 1/125 sec.
- The lens in auto mode is apertured to f / 20, in manual mode and when shooting with a flash up to f / 16.
- Exposure in automatic mode - from 1/60 to 1/300 sec. In manual mode - from 1/60 to 1/4 s or “ B ”.
- Optical viewfinder with illuminated frame, parallax , coupled with a rangefinder .
- 1/4 inch tripod thread.
The principle of operation of the apparatus
Auto shooting
Camera "FED-35" ("FED-35A") - automatic program . Automatic mode is activated by setting the shutter speed ring to position “ A ”. The position of the diaphragm ring is any.
Automatic shooting is possible only when the power source is installed - one mercury-zinc element RC-53 [1] (a modern analogue of the RH-625 [2] ) or one nickel-cadmium battery D-0.06 [3] .
On the front surface of the rim of the lens is placed a sulfur-cadmium (CdS) photoresistor , with the use of light filters are automatically amended for their density.
The photosensitivity of a photographic film is installed by a ring located on the front surface of the lens mount. The values of sensitivity from 32 to 250 units. GOST.
The exposure meter controls the shutter-diaphragm, setting the exposure parameters depending on the photosensitivity of the film and the illumination of the photographic object.
At minimum illumination, the shutter-diaphragm performs an exposure of 1/60 at f / 2.8, and at maximum - an exposure of 1/300 at f / 20. The combination of shutter speed - aperture can not be changed.
Manual and flash
When installing the aperture ring at positions from 2.8 to 16, the lens is diaphragmed to the specified value. Shutter speed is set from 1/4 to 1/60 sec. With the long shutter speed “ B ” set, the aperture value will be only 2.8.
In manual mode, the camera FED-35 (FED-35A) works without a power source.
The electronic flash is connected only through the central sync "X". If you use a flash only with a sync cable - it is recommended to install it through an adapter. Sync speed - any.
Filming in semi-automatic mode (“FED-35”)
The camera FED-35 was provided for semi - automatic exposure mode .
One parameter (shutter speed or aperture ) was set manually, then another parameter was selected.
The indicator arrow was visible in the viewfinder 's field of view; with the correct exposure, the arrow should have taken a certain position.
The shutter speed in semi-automatic mode was set from 1/4 to 1/125 sec.
