The 3rd Moscow Communist Rifle Division is a military unit ( rifle division ) of the Red Army of the USSR Armed Forces in the Great Patriotic War , which operated from October 1941 to January 1942.

Division History
The 3rd Moscow Communist Rifle Division was formed from 17.10. on October 24, 1941 in school No. 3 at Chapaevsky Lane, house 6 of twenty-five communist and workers' battalions on the basis of GKO Decree No. 10 of July 4, 1941 [1] .
The 1st Rifle Regiment included battalions of the Dzerzhinsky, Zheleznodorozhny, Kiev, Krasnopresnensky, Leningrad, Leninsky, Moskvoretsky, Oktyabrsky, Sverdlovsky, Soviet, Tagansky, Timiryazevsky and Frunze districts of Moscow. The 2nd Rifle Regiment included battalions of the Baumansky, Kalininsky, Kirovsky, Kominternovsky, Krasnogvardeisky, Kuibyshevsky, Molotovsky, Pervomaisky, Proletarsky, Rostokinsky, Sokolniki and Stalin districts of Moscow. Since the second half of October, it has been defending at the nearby north-western approaches to Moscow, at the Rostokino - Likhobory - Khimki - Schukino line . [3] .
As of November 3, 1941, the division defended: 1st Infantry Regiment - Korovino , Khimgorodok , Nikolskoye ; 2nd Infantry Regiment - Brattsevo , Spasskoye , Myakinino , Shchukino; 3rd Rifle Regiment - Koptevo , Falcon . [four]
From the second half of November, it closed the approaches to Moscow from the Leningrad and Volokolamsk highways at the level of the river station in Khimki . [five]
In late November - early December 1941, she conducted reconnaissance operations in the Solnechnogorsk region [6] .
01/19/1942 Headquarters of the High Command ordered the commander of the troops of the Moscow defense zone, Lieutenant General P. A. Artemyev, to send the division by rail to the commander of the North-Western Front to strengthen the 4th shock army [7]
By the order of the Deputy People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR of January 19, 1942, it was reorganized into the 130th Infantry Division [8] .
