Amat parish ( Latvian. Amatas pagasts ) is one of the five territorial units of the Amat region of Latvia . Located in the central part of the region. It borders on the Drabesh , Nitaur and Skuyen volosts of its region, the Ligatne volost of the Ligatn region , as well as the Vaiva volost of the Cesis region .

The largest settlements of the volost are the following villages: Gikshi, Renzeni, Spare, Aparnieki, Velmeri, Zageri.
The rivers Amata, Nedien, Skuyup, Gayden, Kurmup, Ezhup flow through the territory of the volost.
History
In 1945, the Kos Village Council was established in the Kosy parish of Cesis County . After the cancellation of the volost division in 1949, the Kossky Village Council was part of the Cesis district .
In 1954, the territory of the liquidated Renzen Village Council was annexed to the Kos Village Council. In 1965 - the territory of the state farm "Amat" of the Drabesh village council. In the same year, the territory of the Skujene state farm of the Kos Village Council, together with the Kosu village, were annexed to the Skujen Village Council. The Kos village council was renamed Amat [2] .
In 1990, the Amatsky village council was reorganized into a volost. In 2000, the Amat volost, together with the Drabesh volost, became part of the newly formed Amat Territory.
