Location
53 km north of Petrikov , 42 km from the railway station Mulyarovka (on the Luninets - Kalinkovichi line ), 204 km from Gomel .
Transportation Network
Transport links along the country road, then the Komarovichi - Kopatkevichi road . The layout consists of a rectilinear meridional street intersected by a second rectilinear street. It is rarely built up, mainly with wooden estates. In 1992, brick houses with 50 apartments were built, which housed immigrants from places contaminated with radiation after the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant .
History
It has been known from written sources since the 19th century , when immigrants from the village of Golovchitsy founded a farm here. In 1908, in the Komarovichsky volost of the Mozyr district of the Minsk province . In 1918, a school was opened, which was located in a hired peasant house.
From August 21, 1925 until September 5, 1929 the center of Golovchitsky, then until April 8, 1965 the Novogolovchitsky village council of Kopatkevichsky , from July 8, 1931 Petrikovsky, from February 12, 1935 Kopatkevichsky, from December 25, 1962 Petrikovsky districts of Mozyr (from July 26, 1930 years and from June 21, 1935 to February 20, 1938) of the okrug, from February 20, 1938 to Polesskaya , from January 8, 1954 to the Gomel regions.
In 1929, the village of Golovchitsy was divided into two: Old Golovchitsy and Novye Golovchitsy (former farms). In 1930, the collective farm "New Plowman" was organized, the forge worked. During World War II, partisans defeated the garrison created here by the invaders. In the winter of 1943, the headquarters of the 125th Kopatkevich partisan brigade was located in the village. In the battles near the village, 19 Soviet soldiers and partisans died (buried in a mass grave on the northwestern outskirts). 43 residents died at the front. According to the 1959 census, the center of the collective farm "Progress". There is a communications department , a club, a secondary school, a library, a feldsher-midwife station, and a kindergarten.
