Andrea Henkel with the main trophy of the season

In men, the winner of the World Cup for the race before the end of the season was German biathlete Michael Grice , who was ahead of Norwegian Ole Einar BjΓΆrndalen who did not quite successfully perform in Khanty-Mansiysk and did not come to the final stage of the Frenchman Rafael Poiret . In women, everything was decided in the last race. German Andrea Henkel immediately made 5 misses on the first shooting of the race from the general start, but later on of the 15 shots she missed only once, and, despite her short 15th place, she managed to get ahead of her rivals: compatriot Katie Wilhelm and Swede Anna Karin Olofsson and become the owner of the main prize of the season. In the draw of the Nations Cup, the Russian biathletes excelled in men - in the German team, in women - by a wide margin.

The holders of small World Cups are:

men - Russian national team ( relay race ), Rafael Poiret ( individual race ), Ole Einar BjΓΆrndalen ( mass start ), Michael Grice ( sprint ), Dmitry Yaroshenko ( pursuit );

Women - France team ( relay race ), Andrea Henkel ( individual race ), Katie Wilhelm ( mass start and pursuit ), Anna Karin Olofsson ( sprint ).

Notes

  1. ↑ The third stage of the cup was originally supposed to be held in Brezno-Osrblie ( Slovakia ), but because of the weather the stage was moved to Hochfilzen ( Austria )
  2. ↑ Initially, the schedule was an individual race, but due to the transfer of the stage to Hochfilzen, the organizers did not have time to prepare a longer track. Thus, at one stage, two men's sprint races took place.
  3. ↑ Since the third stage was postponed due to weather conditions from Brezno-Osrblie to Hochfilzen, where the individual race was replaced by a sprint race, at the stage in Holmenkollen the sprint that was initially present in the schedule was replaced by an individual race, which served as the qualification for the pursuit race that followed
