Biography

Very little is known about him. According to chronicles, Amdah was the son of Domnal, who is usually identified with King Donald III . In 971, King Amdarh killed King Alba Kulen in Ibandonia. The name "Ibandonia" is not exactly identified. “ The Chronicle of Melrose ” indicates that the murder occurred in Lothian , but his reason was the rape of Amdarch's daughter by Kulen. The Chronicle of the Kings of Alba adds that his brother Ehayid was killed along with Kulen.

Amdah probably died in 973, when his brother Malcolm is mentioned by the new king.
