Location
29 km south-west of Narovli , 28 km from the Yelsk railway station (on the Kalinkovichi - Ovruch line ), 207 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
On the Slovechna River (a tributary of the Pripyat River ).
Transportation Network

History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 16th century as the village of Demidovichi in the Mozyr district of the Minsk Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , gentry property. After the 2nd division of the Commonwealth (1793) as part of the Russian Empire . An ore smelter operated, which produced 7-9 pounds of metal per day. At the end of the 18th century, the wooden Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos was built (metric books from 1800 were stored in it). The mill and the smelter worked. In 1825, S.I. Horvat bought the village from Golstov. In 1864, a public school was opened. In 1885, a church, an ironworks, and a water mill worked. According to the census of 1897, a church, a parish school, and a bread store operated. In 1908, in the Narovlyan volost of the Rechitsa district of the Minsk province .
From August 20, 1924 to July 16, 1954, the center of the Demidov Village Council of the Narovlyansky district of Mozyr (until July 26, 1930 and from June 21, 1935 to February 20, 1938) of the district, from February 20, 1938 to Polesskaya , from January 8, 1934 to the Gomel region . In 1930, the collective farm "Drummer" was organized, a water mill was operating (since 1914). Elementary school in the 1930s transformed into a 7-year-old. During the Great Patriotic War , an underground group operated (leader I. Smykovsky). In July 1943, the German occupiers burned 129 yards and killed 7 residents. 76 residents were killed at the front. According to the 1959 census, the center of the farm "Friendship".
