Murmuri [1] [2] ( pers. مورمورئ ) is a small town in the west of Iran , in the province of Ilam . Included in the shahrestan Abdanan . As of 2006, the population was 3,491 people [3] .

Geography
The city is located in the south-east of Ilam, in the highlands of western Zagros , at an altitude of 444 meters above sea level [1] . Murmuri is located approximately 150 kilometers southeast of Ilam , the provincial capital, and 465 kilometers southwest of Tehran , the country's capital.
