Geography
Location
21 km south-west of Mozyr , 151 km from Gomel , 7 km from the Kozenki railway station (on the Kalinkovichi - Ovruch line ).
Hydrography
On the Mytva River (a tributary of the Pripyat River ).
Transportation Network
Transport links on the country, then the highway Mazyr - Makhnovichi . The layout consists of an arc-shaped street close to latitudinal orientation, to which a short, rectilinear street joins in the east. The building is double-sided, wooden, loose, manor type.
History
It is known from written sources from the beginning of the 18th century (indicated on the map of the Minsk Voivodeship). After the 2nd division of the Commonwealth (1793) as part of the Russian Empire . In 1795, in the Meleshkovichi volost of the Mozyr district of the Minsk province . In 1879 it was designated as a village in the Mozyr church parish . According to the 1897 census, a bread store was operating. In 1910, a school was opened, which was located in a hired peasant house, and in 1912 its own building was built for it.
In 1930, the Mytva collective farm was organized, a forge and a steam mill worked. During World War II , 15 Soviet soldiers died in a battle for the village and its environs (buried in a mass grave on the eastern outskirts). 30 residents died at the front. According to the 1959 census as part of the state farm "Mozyr vegetable factory" (center - the village of Kamenka ).
