Location
Clay and peat deposits are located nearby. 25 km south-west of Loev , 63 km from the Rechitsa railway station (on the Gomel - Luninets line ), 117 km from Gomel .
Hydrography

History
According to written sources, it has been known since the beginning of the 19th century as a village in the Rechitsa district of the Minsk province . In 1850, the possession of the landowner Bykovskaya. In 1872, the wooden 5-domed Ascension Church was built, in which among the books there was an official published in Kiev in 1791, and the gospels published in Moscow in 1805 and 1863. In 1885, the center of Ruchaevsky volost, which included 12 villages with 438 yards. According to the census of 1897, a public school, a bread store, and a tavern operated. Since April 26, 1919 in the Gomel province of the RSFSR . As a result of the pogrom, which was launched by the Galaki gang on February 7, 1921, 40 residents were killed. On May 9, 1923, the volost was liquidated, and the territory was annexed to the Loevskaya and Kholmeche volosts. In 1930, there was an elementary school , a reading room, and a department for consumer cooperation. In 1931, a collective farm named after the SNK of the BSSR was organized, a forge worked. During the Great Patriotic War, the invaders created their own garrison in the village, which was defeated by partisans on September 8, 1942. Punishers in 1943 burned 93 yards and killed 8 residents. In the battles for the liberation of the village and the surrounding area, 608 Soviet soldiers died, including Hero of the Soviet Union V.M. Lebedev (buried in a mass grave in the center of the village). According to the 1959 census, the center of the farm "Dawn".
