Dubovitsa ( Belorussian. Dubavitsa ) is a village in the Luzhkovsky village council of the Kormyansky district of the Gomel region of Belarus .

Geography

Location

22 km south-west of Korma , 78 km from the Rogachev railway station (on the Mogilev - Zhlobin line ), 95 km from Gomel .

Hydrography

In the east, north, and west, reclamation canals connected to the Gorna River (a tributary of the Sozh River ).

Transportation Network

Transport links along a country road, then along the Dovsk -Gomel highway. The layout consists of 2 streets oriented from southeast to northwest, connected in the southeast by a short street. A street oriented from southwest to northeast joins the southwestern side of the village. Two-sided building, wooden manor type.

History

From ancient times, the ancient settlement discovered by archaeologists (1 km north-east of the village, on the cape of the banks of the Gorn River), known to researchers since 1873, testifies to human activity in these places. According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Rasokh volost of the Rogachev district of the Mogilev province . According to the revision of 1859 - the possession of the landowner I.K. Bykovsky. In 1881, a bread store was operating. According to the 1897 census, a literacy school, a drinking house, operated. In 1909 - 772 tithes of the earth, mill.

As a result of the fire, on April 16, 1925, 58 buildings with 20 courtyards burned down. In 1929 the collective farm “Red Volunteer” was organized , a windmill and a forge worked. In 1962, the village of Dubrovka-2 was attached to the village. The center of the collective farm “Communist”, housed a consumer services plant, a mill, a sawmill, a 9-year school, the House of Culture, a library, a post office , a shop, a feldsher-midwife station, and a nursery-kindergarten.

Previously, the village was part of the Strukachevsky village council .
