Biography

Plato Hildebrandt was born on December 13, 1817, the son of a military doctor Ivan Andreevich von Hildebrandt.

He was educated in the 1st Moscow Cadet Corps, from which he was released on June 27, 1837 as an ensign into the 18th horse-artillery battery. In 1853, with the rank of captain, he was appointed commander of the backup battery of the 7th cavalry artillery brigade.

October 20, 1855 Hildebrandt was promoted to lieutenant colonel , commanded the equestrian artillery lightweight No. 12th battery [1] . January 20, 1864 received the rank of colonel . Then he commanded the lightweight battery of the 6th Horse Artillery Brigade.

In 1867, P.I. Hildebrandt was given command of the 11th Dragoon Riga Regiment . Being promoted to major general on July 27, 1875, he was appointed commander of the 1st Brigade of the 11th Cavalry Division .

In 1877-1878, Hildebrandt fought with the Turks in Bulgaria , at the beginning of 1878 he was temporarily correcting the affairs of the head of the 11th Cavalry Division. For his distinction in the battle of Chaprikioi on September 9, 1877 he was awarded a gold saber with the inscription “For courage” , and for the difference in affairs on November 13 at the villages of Kovacitsa and Palomiritsa, he received swords for the Order of St. Vladimir 3rd degree.

In the early 1880s he was appointed commander of the 7th brigade of cavalry reserve. May 6, 1884 promoted to lieutenant general .

Platon Ivanovich Hildebrandt died on May 16, 1886.

Rewards

Among other awards, Hildebrandt had the following orders:

  • Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree (1853, the imperial crown was granted to this order in 1862)
  • Order of St. Stanislav 2nd degree with the imperial crown (1856)
  • Order of St. Vladimir 3rd degree (1870, swords for this order were granted in 1878)
  • Golden saber with the inscription "For courage" (December 23, 1878)
  • Order of St. Stanislav 1st degree with swords (1879)
  • Order of St. Anne 1st degree with swords (1880)
