2011 Taekwondo World Championship

The 20th Taekwondo World Championship was held from May 1 to May 6, 2011 in Gyeongju . As part of this championship, 16 sets of awards were won. The competition was attended by athletes from 142 countries.

According to the results of the championship, the national team of the Republic of Korea became the owner of the first place in the medal team standings. Athletes of this country have won 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. In the men's team event, for the first time in the history of world championships, Korean athletes could not rise to the first line of the standings, losing 7 points to Iranian athletes. In the women's standings, Korean athletes were ahead of Chinese Taekwondo women by 3 points and again became first place winners.
