100 best universities and research institutes of Russia

The basis for assessing the success of a university is the “Model for evaluating a university” developed by the organizing committee ^[2] , which includes the following criteria:

• customer satisfaction with the quality of specialist training (compliance with the educational program, the qualifications of teachers, abilities and skills of graduates to the demands of employers and modern requirements);
• scientific, technical and intellectual potential of the university (the level of achievement of the university for the entire period of training of specialists);
• satisfaction with the quality of education and training of students, graduates, teachers and university employees;
• the impact of the university on society, the image of the university;
• using the potential of the university (the dynamics of the development of the university, the role of leadership in the use of its basic resources, the degree to which the potential of university employees is revealed);
• level of research and scientific work (publications and patent activity, the presence of international cooperation programs, additional funding for research and educational contracts from both business and the state, dissertation success, citation);
• employment of graduates;
• career growth (the number of graduates holding high positions in enterprises, in elected bodies of power and in power structures);
• high-quality characteristics of universities (certification according to ISO 9000, joining the largest networks of the union of international universities, etc.).

The assessment of the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, design, engineering and technological organizations of Russia is based on their ability to implement tasks that meet modern requirements of technological and industrial development.

The results of the competition “100 best universities and research institutes of Russia” in 2011 were announced at the V All-Russian Conference “Problems and Prospects for the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Russian Federation” ^[3] , held on June 25, 2011 in St. Petersburg at the International Academy of Quality and marketing with the participation of the Committee of the Council of the Russian Federation on Science and Education, the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on science and high technology, the Committee of the State Duma on education, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the International Academy of Quality and the market Yang, the journal "Nanotechnology. Ecology. Production". Since 2010, the Chairman of the Conference has been the Nobel Prize Laureate, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Zhores Ivanovich Alferov .
