Robert Norman Mansch ( born Robert Norman Munsch ; born June 11, 1945 , Pittsburgh , PA ) is a Canadian children's writer of American origin.

Biography
He graduated from Fordham University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, as well as Boston University in 1971 with a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology.
Initially, he intended to become a Jesuit priest, but later, after working with children in shelters and centers for day care groups, he decided to choose a career related to raising children. In 1973 he defended his thesis for a master's degree in pedagogy at Tufts University .
In 1975, he moved to Canada, where he entered the preparatory class for children at the University of Guelph in Guelph , Ontario . He also taught at the Department of Family Studies at the University of Guelph as a teacher and assistant professor. It was in Guelph on the advice of many friends and acquaintances that he began to publish his children's books.
The Channel has publicly admitted that it suffers from bipolar disorder and is addicted to drugs. [6] [7] In August 2008, the English Channel suffered a stroke, due to which for the time being it lost the ability to speak with normal sentences; he was later able to improve his speech skills to the point of speaking in public, but he stopped his writing career until he recovered completely. [8] On May 15, 2010, the English Channel announced that he was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder and manic-depressive psychosis , and that he was undergoing treatment for cocaine and alcohol addiction. [9] [10]
Rewards
In 1999, the English Channel became a member of the Order of Canada . On June 17, 2009, it was announced that the English Channel would be starred on the Canadian Walk of Fame in Toronto . The ceremony was held on September 12, 2009 [11] [12] .
