Biography
Born in 1954 in Moscow. In 1977 he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute , worked as a radio engineer, and served in the army from 1978 to 1980. In 1986 he graduated from the cinematography department of VGIK (workshop of N.P. Tumanova).
From 1986 to 1990 he worked as editor of the Glavka for the production of documentaries of the Goskino USSR. Since 1990, as a screenwriter, he collaborated with the Leningrad Documentary Film Studio, where in 1992, co-authored with director Viktor Semenyuk, he created the two-part documentary film The Romanovs House, based entirely on archival footage of the Tsar’s newsreel and for the first time telling the most fully about the last Russian Tsar Nicholas II. The film received the prize of the All-Russian Orthodox Film Festival.
