Biography

Born into a non-art family. Mother worked as a teacher, taught the history of the USSR , her father was in charge of car repair shops. [2] He studied at the University of Tartu and the Moscow Institute of History and Archives , but neither did. [3] [2] Already in his youth he began to write poetry. In 1958, he almost accidentally starred in the famous Soviet detective story “ The Motley Varie ”. Printed as a journalist in " Evening Moscow ". In those years, he was forced to take the pseudonym Olev, so that he would not be mistaken for the son of Mikhail Rosenfeld , the celebrated Komsomolskaya Pravda militia officer who died at the front. [3] In the early 1960s, he worked at the Fiction publishing house in the editorial staff of Latin American countries, translating from Spanish. At the same time, thanks to the composer Oscar Feltsman , he switched from simple poems to lyrics to songs. Over time, became widely known in the musical circles of the USSR. [2] Later, he began writing songs for the cinema: he owns the lyrics of the films from the Mission in Kabul , The Trust That Has Burst , Mary Poppins, Goodbye! "," Treasure Island "and others. Vocal-instrumental suite "Century number 20" ( 1985 ) for the rock band " Autograph ".

Naum Olev - author of poems to the songs of Maxim Dunaevsky , Vladimir Bystryakov , Dmitry Danin , Raimond Pauls , Yuri Saulsky , Oscar Feltsman , Alexander Flyarkovsky , Igor Matvienko , Alexander Klevitsky , Tatyana Ostrovsky , Alexander Zhurbin , Gennady Alexandrov and other composers.

Olev is a very dear person for me, he played a crucial role in my life. He was a wonderful man, wonderful, completely different from other poet. He left too early, was full of creative power, and in recent years, Naum Mironovich wrote a lot for musicals and for movies

- Oscar Feltsman [4]

In total, he created several hundred songs that were performed by the most famous Soviet and Russian artists, including Edita Pyekha , Alla Pugacheva , Iosif Kobzon , Mikhail Boyarsky , Nikolai Karachentsov , Pavel Smeyan , Muslim Magomayev , Valery Leontyev , Zhanna Goroschenya , Mikhail Chuev , Lyudmila Gurchenko , Renat Ibragimov , Tamara Miansarova , Eduard Khil , Yury Gulyaev , Gelena Velikanova , Larisa Mondrus , Vadim Mulerman , Aida Vedischeva , Lev Leshchenko , Irina Ponarovskaya , Lyubov Uspenskaya and other popular performers.

In 1988, Naum Olev opened the Zero gallery, where he exhibited the works of leading Moscow artists, and until the end of his life he worked as a gallery owner. The gallery held exhibitions abroad and in Russia and was a regular participant in the capital's art salons. Since 1989, Olev stopped writing poetry and returned to poetry only in the last years of his life - he wrote poems for the musical “ Romeo and Juliet ” (2004) and poems to the New Year project of the First Channel “ Twelve Chairs ” (2005), and also began working with Pavel Smeyanom over a new musical-poetic cycle, for which the compositions “Boldin Autumn”, “Club Suit” and others were created [2] [3] He acted as an actor in the film “ Broadway of my youth ” ( 1996 ).

Naum Olev was called an “experienced cynic”, he jokingly himself, paraphrasing the interlocutor, once called the “malicious romantic”:

... My face, as you see, is not the most affable, an expression far from the romantic mood. I will say more: in Holland, friends took me to some sort of mafia showdown. I had to play the role of the “godfather” - almost without words, only to show the physiognomy of the enemy. The contracting parties gathered at the restaurant, discussed their complex relationships, and here, with some delay, as was provided for by the scenario, I entered. He got up side by side, his hands in his pockets, with a heavy look circled all those present who were tensely silent, and asked with meaning: "How are you?" My guys seemed to reassure: "Yes, everything seems to be fine." - “Well, look,” I shrugged my shoulders, “otherwise I ...” - “No, no, nothing, we are here!” Questions, of course, were always solved in “our” favor [5] .

Naum Olev died April 9, 2009 after a long illness [6] [7] . He was buried in Moscow, at the Don Cemetery .
