Career
Throughout his career he played for the Scottish Hibernian . Together with Gordon Smith, Bobby Johnston, Laurie Reilly and Willie Ormond, he formed the front line of the club, which went down in the history of British football as the “Great Five”. He won the national championship three times in the club (1948, 1952, 1952). He made his debut in the Scottish national team in 1948, and then was invited to the team ten years later - in 1958.
At the end of his playing career in 1959, he became a coach. With Aberdeen, he won the Scottish Cup in 1970 in 1970, and in 1972 with the Hibernian he won the Scottish League Cup. In 1980, he left big football.
