“Café del Mar” (translated from Spanish - “Cafe by the Sea”) is a bar located in the city of San Antoni de Portmany on the island of Ibiza ( Spain ), a few meters from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea . It is popular among tourists for the summer season due to its beautiful sunsets. The bar was opened by Ramón Guiral, Carlos Andrea and José Les in 1980 [1] .
Music
Café del Mar is releasing musical albums of the same name with works by world famous musicians compiled by the DJs of the bar. It is suggested that these compositions should create the mood experienced when watching the sunset . Musical genres of compositions include ambient and easy listening . Initially, collections were published on cassettes ; since 1994, the official series of compact discs has been produced [2] . By 2013, 19 volumes, several separate collections and three albums dedicated to the 20th anniversary, 25th anniversary, 30th anniversary and 35th anniversary of the bar were released.
