Yongpyeong Ski Resort is located in Pyeongchang , the venue of the 2018 Winter Olympics [2] [3] [4] and in the place with the most snow in South Korea. [5] Located at an altitude of between 700 and 1458 meters above sea level. Ski slopes descend from two hills: Gold Peak (1127 m) and Dragon Peak (1458 m).

The resort is owned by Moon Song Myung [6] and is recognized by the country's population as the “Mecca” of South Korea, [7] [8] which was attended by many sports celebrities. [7] The resort hosts many international events, [9] [10] [11] in particular skiing competitions : slalom , [12] biathlon , [13] sprint , snowboard competitions , [7] which were attended Athletes from 42 countries [14] and the National Winter Sports Festival was held, [15] organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. [16] At the opening ceremony of the 90th National Winter Sports Festival, held at the Yongpyeong ski resort, Governor Gangwon-do made a congratulatory speech and the Minister of Culture and Sports of Azerbaijan attended. Milestones
In 2004, the company organized the first Asian Biathlon Championships at its ski base, with 110 government officials attending the opening ceremony. [24]
In 2007, Yongpyeong resort visited the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea to study the process of preparation for the Winter Olympic Games. [25]
In 2011, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea made a congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony of the 92nd Assembly of the Olympic Committee of the Republic of Korea , held at Yongpyeong Base. [26] In the same year, a three-day intercultural program was held at Yongpyeong for 200 people, of which 170 were refugees from North Korea . [27]
Summer season
The 13-story VIP hotel with a total living area of more than 4000 m² for 3500 people in the summer does not need air conditioning and there are no mosquitoes on the base. There is also a water park and a 48-hole golf course. Nearby there is a sea beach and a highway 5 km from the hotel, leading to Seoul . [28] [29] The resort has a large supermarket . Waterpark
The water park is equipped with a main wave-shaped pool, a children's pool, a pool of medicinal herbs and a spa village of 800 rare hot springs in Korea with sulphate alkalis, useful for health, an aquarium. [28] The spa is open 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day. [32]
