Dinas refractory products , dinas (from the name of the rock Dinas, Craig-y-Dinas, in the UK , in Wales ) - refractories containing not less than 93% silicon dioxide ( silica ).
Content
Getting
They are made of siliceous rocks, mainly quartzite , with the addition of 2–2.5% lime . The raw rock is crushed and mixed with milk of lime , the products are molded on presses, dried and fired at 1400-1460 ° C.
Refractoriness
The Dinas refractoriness is 1680–1730 ° С, the temperature of the onset of deformation under a load of 200 kn / m² (2 kgf / cm²) is 1630–1670 ° С.
Application
Used in the construction of coke, glass, open-hearth and other furnaces.
Special Types of Dinas
Special types of dinas are characterized by a high content of silica and density. Lightweight dinas refractory products with a density of 1.1-1.3 g / cm 3 are also manufactured.
