Philip Baker Hall ( born Philip Baker Hall ; born September 10, 1931 , Toledo ) is an American actor best known for his participation in the films Boogie Nights , Rush Hour , Magnolia , Own Man , Bruce Almighty ”,“ Dogville ”and“ The Amityville Horror . ” Two-time nominee for the US Screen Actors Guild Award , Satellite and Independent Spirit nominees.

Biography
Philip Baker Hall was born in Toledo , Ohio . His father was a worker from Montgomery , Alabama .
He graduated from the University of Toledo [1] . He served in the army and for a short time worked as a teacher in high school [2] . In 1961 he moved to New York , where he successfully played in Broadway theaters .
Hall's first film role was the role of Rev. Reis's father in the movie Cowards (1970). This was followed by roles in “The Rock ”, “The Airplane of the President ”, “ The Truman Show ” and many other films.
Of the last notable roles of the actor are Franklin in “ Mr. Popper Penguins, ” Alan in “ I Have Cancer, ” Malvern Bump in “ All the Best .”
Personal life
From 1973 to 1976, Philip Baker Hall was married to Dianne Lewis. From 1978 to the present, the actor is married to Holly Wolf, who bore him two children: Jack's son and daughter Jody.
