Was first a doctor. Dufour gained fame with numerous studies on the anatomy of spiders and insects , as well as on the transformations of the latter; he discovered gregarin and made it public in 1811 - 1861 . numerous articles in the Annales des sciences naturelles and Annales de la Société Entomologique de France ; he published, among other things, Recherches sur les hemipteres (P., 1833 ).
