Player Career

Club

Pupil of the football school team Dynamo from Zagreb. He began to play football in childhood, at the age of 14 he began to play in the Duga Resa team. He was first announced to participate in the national championship in the 1956/1957 season, having won the cup in that season. In the 1957/1958 season he made his debut at the club, speaking as a midfielder. With his help, the Croatian Dynamo took the title of champions of the country in 1959. In 1960 and 1963, Perushich won the title of vice champion. He played in European competitions as the champion of the country in the 1958/1959 season and the holder of the cups 1960/1961 and 1963/1964 (also played at the Fairs Cup).

In 1965 he left for Germany to play for “Munich 1860”, where he played in a team with Petar Radenkovich, Hans Kuppers, Otto Luttrop, Alfred Heiss, Peter Grosser and Friehelm Konitskaya under the direction of Max Merkel. He became the champion of Germany in the first season, having spent 34 matches. In 1970 he moved to Switzerland (in Germany he played only 138 matches and scored one goal), where he played in St. Gallen as a player and playing coach. At the age of 38, he completed his career.

Team

He spent 27 matches for the national team, became the champion of the 1960 Olympic Games and the vice-champion of Europe in 1960. He participated in the European Championships, starting from the quarterfinal stage (both matches with the Portuguese). May 8, 1960 played in Lisbon, where he could not cope with Germano and Mario Coluna (the Portuguese won 2: 1), but on May 22 in Belgrade, the Portuguese were defeated with a score of 5: 1. In the semifinal on July 6, in a stubborn duel with France , led by Raymond Kopa, the Yugoslavs won 5-4 and reached the final, however, on July 10, a powerful USSR team was waiting for the weakened swim , which won 2-1 in extra time. Perushich played in the final at number 6.

In August-September 1960, the Yugoslavs played at the Olympic football tournament in Rome. Perushich became the Olympic champion after his victory on September 10, 1960 with a score of 3: 1 over Denmark : he managed to cope with his ward Harald Nielsen, a professional player in the Italian Bologna .
