It is located on the right bank of the Mastovaya River opposite the confluence of the Pony Stream. There is an exit to the village from the dirt [2] road Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Tumnin - Sovetskaya Gavan . The distance to Snezhnoye is 15 km. Komsomolsk-on-Amur is 100 km away.
It is part of the single-member constituency No. 13 of the Komsomolsky district [3] .
Vast gold reserves lie in the region of the Pony village [4] , in particular, two kilometers to the south-west there is the Bolshoi Pony - Tudur deposit [2] , known since pre-revolutionary times [5] .
Directly at the southern border of the village [6] , the Pony area [7] of the Pony-Mulinsky ore-placer cluster [8] begins. Rosgeology called the Ponian site “highly promising” [9] , its gold reserves are estimated at 160 tons, and copper - at 1 million tons [10] .
