Regular Season

The league is divided into two conferences. In the 2008 season , both conferences had 7 teams. In the regular season, which lasts from May to August, each team holds 34 games: with 4 teams from the conference, 3 games, with 2 remaining 4 games (20 games), and 2 games with teams from another conference (14 games), and one of the meetings takes place in the home arena. Four teams from each conference with the best win / loss rates go into the playoff round , which lasts through September and ends with a series of final meetings .

In the year of the Summer Olympics, the WNBA takes a month-long break in the season so that players can play for their national teams.
