Isi bin Yehuda

Isi ben Yehuda ( Heb. איסי בן יהודה ; II in . Ne ) - the fifth generation of tannas . It is found in the Babylonian Talmud also under the name Yosef a-Bavli, and in the Jerusalem Talmud under the name of Rabbi Yosef Katnut (Isi is one of the variations of the diminutive name Yosef in Aramaic) [1] .

Biography

Born in Persia, but fled from persecution, changing his name to Isi ben Gamliel and settled in the Land of Israel. He studied with the disciples of Rabbi Akiva.

Contribution to the Talmud

Isi bin Yehuda does not have authorship in the target, but statements on his behalf appear in Baraite and in the Talmud.
