The Lassiter Coast is part of the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula in western Antarctica , lying between Cape Mackintosh in the north and the Filchner Ice Shelf in the south.

The coast is about 240 km long. Most of the territory is occupied by ice shelves and outlet glaciers , as well as the mainland ice sheet. In some places, the peaks of Nunataks rise — individual mountains up to 1800 m high. Lassiter’s coast is blocked year-round by the drifting ice of the Weddell Sea .

The coast was discovered and surveyed by American Antarctic expeditions of 1940 and 1947 . The name of the coast was given in honor of one of the participants in the 1947 expedition, James Lassiter, the pilot who performed significant aerial photography.
