Biography
Born in May 1945 in Moscow, in the family of pianist Frida Bauer.
Poetry and fairy tales Victor Lunin began to compose at school, but entered the path of a professional writer much later. The first publication of verses in periodicals appeared in the early 70s. The first tiny clamshell book “Gifts” for one poem was published in “Baby” in 1975. And the first real poetic collection “Do not step on an elephant” was published in “Baby” in 1978.
Around the same years, V. Lunin engaged in poetic translations. The discovery of a new poetic name for the Russian reader was a book of poems by an outstanding English poet of the 20th century, Walter de la Mara, “Songs of a Dream” (DL, 1983), translated by Victor Lunin. On the disc of Mikhail Feigin's “Only One Road”, which was released by Melody in 1990, there are two songs to the poems of Walter de la Mara translated by Victor Lunin: “Among the Roses” and “The Wind”.
V. Lunin published more than thirty books of poetry and prose. His poetic "Az-bu-ka" for children has become a reference for the transfer of letter sound. And his book “Children's Album” (Poems for the piano cycle of the same name by P. I. Tchaikovsky) at the 3rd All-Russian competition for the children's book “Father's House” in 1996 was awarded with a diploma. For "Children's Album" Viktor Lunin in the same year was awarded the title of winner of the literary prize of the magazine "Murzilka".
