| The title of the album shows the music that Udo always wanted to play: hard and hard Original text The title of the album shows what kind of music Udo always wanted to play: hard and heavy [1] |
After the second breakup of Accept in 1996, Udo Dirkschneider and Stefan Kaufmann decided to pursue a musical career. However, the latter, for medical reasons, could no longer sit behind the drum kit and was retrained as a guitarist. A breakdown of the pen for the group was a recording with drummer Stefan Schwartzmann , former UDO guitarist Matias Diet and session bassist Michael Voss of a tribute to Judas Priest's Metal Gods song, after which Diet left his musical career, devoting himself to law . The group was joined by guitarist Jürgen Graf and bassist Fitty Wienhold, and in 1997 the group at Roxx Studios began recording a new album.
After the release of the album in March 1997, the band's first performance took place only in August 1997 at the Wacken Open Air festival, due to the fact that shortly after the release, Jürgen Graf was in a car accident and the group decided to wait for his recovery [2] . Then the musicians went on tour.
The album was released by Gun Records on a CD (GUN 122). Also, Night of the Vinyl Dead released a limited edition of 350 vinyl copies [1] . Solid has been on the Rock Hard Reader Charts for more than a year. [3]
