History
On April 25, 1937, Pope Pius XI issued the bull Quidquid ad Christi , which established the Apostolic Prefecture of Jeonju, separating it from the Daegu Apostolic Vicariate (today - Daegu Archdiocese ).
On January 21, 1957, Pope Pius XII issued the bull In apostolica praefectura , which transformed the Apostolic Prefecture of Jeonju into the Apostolic Vicariate .
On March 10, 1962, Pope John XXIII issued the bull Fertile Evangelii semen , which transformed the Apostolic Vicariate of Jeonju into a diocese.
