Biography
Born in 1948 in Athens, Greece, and raised in the area .
He became acquainted with monastic life in the monastery of and in the monastery of St. John the Divine Theologian in North Athens . Later he visited Mount Athos.
He graduated from the Philosophical and Theological Departments of the University of Athens . He defended his doctoral dissertation in philosophy at the University of Manchester .
On September 9, 1972, he was ordained a deacon , and on September 17, 1972, a priest .
On March 9, 2000, he was ordained bishop of Nazianzus , vicar of the Thyatira Archbishopric .
On August 29, 2018, he was elected Metropolitan of Laodicea [1] .
