The population according to the 2001 census is about 3 thousand people [4] . It was founded in 1933 as Smidovichsky [5] ; in 1945 renamed.
By 2014, it consisted of 3 villages:
- Birch
- Niva
- Ulyanovka
Since 2014, the Berezovsky rural settlement has been located on the site of the village council.
