Kashgar Range ( Kongurmuztag ) is a mountain range in China , the western tip of Kunlun , located between the G枚zdarya and Tashkurgan rivers .

The length of the ridge is about 100 km, the prevailing heights are from 5000 to 6000 m. The highest peaks are Kongur (7719 m) and Muztag-Ata (7546 m). The ridge is composed mainly of gneisses , granites and quartzites . Kashgar ridge is characterized by sharp ridges, rocky, steep slopes, deep gorges . The area of glaciation is about 600 km虏. The prevailing type of landscape in the north is mountain steppes , in the east and south - semi-deserts and deserts , in river valleys - tugai thickets .
