Big Valley

Great Valley ( English Great Valley ) - a longitudinal depression in the South Appalachian Mountains ( USA ), located between the Blue Ridge and the Appalachian Plateau .

The Big Valley is a system of valleys and depressions, alternating with short and low ridges (up to 1500 m high). The length from north-east to south-west is 950 km, width - from 40 to 60 km. The valley is drained by numerous rivers , the largest of which are Cumberland and Tennessee .

The Big Valley is an important agricultural area: large areas are occupied by crops of wheat and corn , there are many pastures for cattle . The most important highways that connect the north and south of the United States pass through the valley.
