The Haydn Orchestra ( Italian. Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento ) is an Italian symphony orchestra , patronized by the municipal authorities of the Trentino-Alto Adige autonomous region and based in Bolzano and Trento , the capital cities of the provinces constituting this region. Founded in 1960 .
The orchestra is a regular participant of the most important Italian festivals of academic music, including the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro - in 2008, as an envoy of the Rossini Festival, the orchestra embarked on a tour in Japan. Among other tour performances of the band are frequent concerts in Salzburg. There are a lot of rare compositions in the repertoire of the orchestra and among its recordings: in 2003 , after more than 200 years, the orchestra performed a psalm for soloists, choir and orchestra of Dixit Dominus, in 2005, made premiere recordings of youth symphonies and piano concert by Ludwig Tyuye . At the same time, in the history of the orchestra there are premiere performances of new works by modern Italian composers - in particular, Franco Donatoni .
The founder and first leader of the orchestra (until 1990 ) was Andrea Mascagni , in 1991 - 2002 . The duties of the musical director were performed by composer Hubert Stupner . Among the conductors who worked with the orchestra a lot was Antonio Pedrotti (from the founding of the orchestra to his death in 1975 ; since 1989 , the orchestra is the basic team of the conductor competition in Trento dedicated to his memory), Hermann Michael (principal conductor, 1977 —1990), Alin Franques (main conductor, 1990–1994 ), Karl Martin (principal conductor, 1996–1999 ), Paul Angerer (principal guest conductor, 1964–1990 ). In 2003 -2012. The orchestra was headed by Gustav Kun , since 2012 he has been led by Daniele Spini .
