Biography

Leonid Girshovich was born in 1948. He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in violin, worked in the symphony orchestras of Leningrad, Jerusalem , Hanover and Nuremberg .

In 1973 he emigrated to Israel , in 1974 - 1975 he served in the Israeli army . Since 1979 he lives in Germany, in Hanover (since 1980 ), until 2016 he worked in the orchestra of the Hanover Opera. Currently lives in Berlin.

Married, has a son and daughter [1] .

Creativity

He made his debut as a prose writer in 1976 with three short stories in the Shamir almanac, and published a book of prose: An Inverted Bouquet (Jerusalem: Shamir, 1978).

In the West, it was published in the magazines Time and We , 22, Continent, Syntax, Echo, Sagittarius, Solar Plexus, Foreign Notes, Notes on Jewish History [2] , “Jewish Old Man”, “Seven Arts” [3] , “Workshop”, the newspapers “Russian Thought”, “Windows”, “ Our Country ”.

In Russia, prose books were published:
