Shemakha earthquake (1902)

The Shemakhi earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9, which occurred on January 31 ( February 13 ), 1902, and in the territory of the Baku province of the Russian Empire, in modern Azerbaijan , was the most powerful earthquake in the entire history of the city of Shemakha, which destroyed almost the entire city and was buried under its ruins over 3,000 victims [1] . About 4,000 homes were destroyed.
