Biography

According to Alexander Foote, he was a German Jew. His parents, Christian Schneider and Anna Schmidt, came from Zurich . Where Taylor lived in 1930 is unknown.

A citizen of Switzerland, for many years he worked in Geneva as a translator at the Office. From 1948 to 1950 he lived in the same city on Kartre Street.

Rudolf Rössler chose Schneider because with his help it was possible to transmit information to Moscow. Information from Germany came to the Swiss, who informed Lucy for their further transfer to Soviet intelligence.

In a telegram dated October 6, 1943 from Moscow, addressed to the Swiss group, the Director made it clear that Taylor could be useful after the war, and that Moscow guarantees him lifelong maintenance by transferring funds to some European or American bank. According to Foote, Schneider refused to serve in the Office, relying on the promise of the Center to pay him a life pension

Together with Rachel Duberdorfer, in the summer of 1944, Christian Schneider was arrested by the Swiss authorities and imprisoned for participating in the work of the Red Three. However, a month later he was released. According to English sources, after his detention he gave evidence to the Swiss police.

Sandor Rado paid Taylor for his work from June 1942 to September 1943. After his arrest, the Center was no longer interested in Taylor and had no business with him.

In 1948, Schneider lived in Paris and worked in UNESCO. He died in 1962 on October 31 in Geneva.
