"Sparkle" - a children's magazine, a monthly supplement to the newspaper " Lenin Sparks ", an organ of the Leningrad regional committee and city committee of the Komsomol . It was published in 1957-1992.

Initially, he went out in a small volume and format and set himself a modest task so that the children could "... read an interesting story, poems, get to know the heroes of our days, learn the history of the Komsomol and pioneer organizations, and in leisure hours sit around solving crosswords, charades, puzzles" . However, by the end of 1957, the volume of the magazine had increased significantly; novels and plays began to be published.
Permanent authors of the magazine were N. Sladkov with essays on nature and V. Akentiev with the heading "Club of savvy guys."
In 2012, ISKORKA magazine was revived with the assistance of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Writers Union. [1] The name of the magazine has changed a little and officially it is also called "St. Petersburg Sparkle". So far, the magazine has been published occasionally and funded by sponsors.
