Education

In 1961, Trivers intended to study mathematics at Harvard University , but eventually began to study American history to become a lawyer. He received a bachelor 's degree in history from June 16, 1965 at Harvard. After he suffered a nervous breakdown, he began to attend psychology classes as a rehabilitation, but he was not delighted with the state of the science at that time. Due to the disruption, he was unable to enter Yale Law School, and set to work on writing books for children in the social sciences, which, however, were not published. He was instructed to write about animals, and he began to study Darwin biology [3] .

Acquaintance with the theory of evolution led to the fact that from 1968 to 1972 he worked on his graduation project under the guidance of Ernst Mayr . The second part of his main work, The Evolution of Mutual Altruism, was published in 1971 [4] .

Political Activities

After giving a course of lectures to the leader of the Black Panthers, Huey Newton , Trivers became friends with him and in 1979 joined the Black Panther Party.
