Biography
Denis Alexandrov was born in the city of Kemerovo , spent his childhood in the Siberian city of Ust-Ilimsk , stayed in Siberia for 25 years, changing only the places of residence. From the age of ten he began to study in the children's music school in bayan class, he received his elementary music education six years later. After school, Alexandrov enters Irkutsk State Medical University , where he begins to compose his own songs (for example, the song “Anatomist” was created under the impression of working in anatomy classes). Denis graduated from the Moscow State Medical University after six years as a “General Practitioner” and becomes a radiologist (which explains the word “doctor” in the stage name).
In the fall of 2000, Aleksandrov moved to Moscow , dreaming of creating his own band and having only a suitcase and a guitar with him. He gets a job at the Moscow Sklifosovsky Urban Research Institute of Emergency Care . Working in the emergency room, Denis distributed demo-recordings of his songs to everyone, and in the spring of 2001 one of the patients ( singer Oscar ) brought such a record to the CD Land Group publishing house. The company became interested in an unusual song (which was the very “Stop Narcotics”). Having received approval from publishers, in the summer of the same year, Denis with a group of like-minded people writes down an album, which will be released in December. As a result, songs such as Stop Narcotics, Ghost, Anatom conquer the radio space of Russia and the CIS countries . On July 21, 2001, on his birthday, Alexandrov took the first place in the “Charts dozen” of “Nashe Radio” . In August 2001, Doctor Alexandrov, at the invitation of Mikhail Kozyrev, performs at the Invasion Festival. In November 2001, he received the people's award "Golden Gramophone" from "Russian Radio" . In December 2001, the debut album "Stop Narcotics".
After the touring period, Denis decides to take care of house, family and medical careers, which took him 10 years. Currently, Alexandrov is married, has three children and is employed by an international medical company in the field of X-ray equipment. In December 2011, the studio recording of the new album, which was named “The Second Half”, was completed. The performer made a recording of the disc independently with funds donated by friends and colleagues. During the summer of 2012, Denis recorded the third album “The Third from the Left” with the same composition of musicians. In August 2013, the recording of the fourth disc, entitled "The Fourth Key", was completed. Immediately after the completion of the fourth, work began on the fifth album, which was recorded using only acoustic instruments (a kind of unplugged). This recording was completed in April 2014. In one of the songs on the cello, the famous keyboard player and cellist Peter Akimov played. In the spring of 2014, studio work on the sixth disc was continued (completion is planned in the fall of 2014).
