About the album
“ Warner Bros Records released their best Smooth Jazz duo album, recorded with Rick Brown, who signed an agreement with the record company. Their collaboration was successful, as at Shake It Up, James and Brown rediscovered their talents before the audience, not adhering to old stereotypes. Initially, especially in the excellent composition “RSVP”, playing the trumpets of James and Brown goes well with the sound of keyboards and “sparkling” jazz improvisations. However, later the trumpet James sounds in a low key, but Rick Brown plays a higher sound, ”says the reviewer Allmusic [1] . “Song for My Father” is a cover version of the song by Horace Silver [1] .
